Great Beasts and Little Animals Preview Page

Originally published in 1911 under the title Grosses bêtes et petits bêtes, Great Beasts and Little Animals by André Hellé's was a look at the animals of the world who had survived the great flood and lived throughout the world.

Helle, a wooden toy designer, was a  master of cartoonist who would no doubt be popular in todays children's books industry. Translated from French, the text reflects a more modern and sympathetic view of some of these animals (the Tiger in the original text, for instance, is a creature to be feared and killed when it gets too close). The original drawings have all been left intact and the spirit of the original book remains.
